A 47-year-old Stewartville woman was in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Rochester. This incident was reported online yesterday. Police said the woman was walking across 2nd Street using the crosswalk at 18th Ave. SW when she was hit by a car. A vehicle in the right lane had stopped to let her cross. However, a second car in the left lane reportedly did not see her and struck her in the crosswalk.

The preliminary investigation revealed alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Police said the pedestrian was taken by Gold Cross to Saint Mary’s and at last word was listed in critical condition. This incident will now change the lives of everyone involved.
