CAR HIT BY SEMI TRAILER TRUCK COMPENSATION ATTORNEYS
The Minnesota State Patrol on Thursday reported that a woman was killed in a six-vehicle auto pileup the previous night caused by a crash with a truck. The crash closed part of a major highway in New Hope for many hours and injured several other people. Our lawyers handle many compensation cases where a truck hits a car.
The State Patrol said that a semitrailer truck traveling in the left lane of northbound Hwy. 169 near Rockford Road hit a car from behind just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. That collision caused a ripple effect that killed the driver of the second car, the patrol said.
The first car was rear ended by the semi trailer truck and then was pushed into a second car. Then, the second car rear-ended a minivan. The second car and the minivan came to a rest in the right lane. The semi continued north in the left lane and rear-ended a third car, which then hit a second minivan. Hwy. 169 remained closed until 11 p.m. as emergency responders tended to the vehicles’ occupants while investigators pieced together what happened.
There is no indication yet as to why the truck hit the car. It may have been the truck driver’s inattention or falling asleep at the wheel, or any of many other possibilities. Our car truck accident lawyers have seen many cases like this with truck driver negligence.
The semi’s driver was not hurt, nor was one of the minivan drivers, the State Patrol said. Four of the five occupants in the other vehicles suffered noncritical injuries in the crash.
