SPEEDING CAR ACCIDENT NEAR ST. PAUL MN – ATTORNEYS
The Pioneer Press published a police report today about a very bad crash in Roseville. A 49-year-old Oakdale man drove his car down a Minnesota 36 embankment in Roseville and then sped along Fairview Avenue at more than 100 mph. Unfortunately, the car then crashed head-on into a sport-utility vehicle driven by a 63-year-old St. Paul man. At the Rochlin Law Firm, our top rated car accident attorneys have represent many people injured in serious crashes in St. Paul and throughout Minnesota. However, even for us, this is a very unusual case.
Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision in Roseville Friday. According to Roseville police, the driver of an Audi A6 and the driver of a Ford Escape both suffered “substantial bodily injury” and were rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center.
INVESTIGATION OF ST. PAUL CAR CRASH
Witnesses told police the Audi was headed east on Minnesota 36 just after 12 p.m. when it suddenly left the highway and plunged down a steep embankment. It then crashed through a chain-link fence and onto southbound Fairview Avenue. People saw the car hit the concrete lane divider before accelerating south on Fairview Avenue at over 100 mph. (Our auto accident lawyers frequently interview witnesses in injury cases to flesh out their statements in more detail. Unfortunately, the St. Paul police often don’t have time to do thorough interviews, particularly at the car accident scene.)
As the speeding Audi approached Roselawn Avenue, it passed a line of vehicles waiting at the four-way stop sign. The Audi then crashed into the SUV, which was headed north, police said. The car hit the SUV with such force that the SUV was pushed back to the intersection it had just cleared, police said.
Because of the serious injuries from the car accident, the State Patrol agreed to help Roseville police investigate and reconstruct the crash. (An accident reconstruction by the State Patrol is often very helpful. The State Patril will determine who was at fault and exactly what happened in a car accident in St. Paul or anywhere else in MN.)
