CHEMICAL BURN INJURY ON THE JOB MN ATTORNEYS
A lawyer in our office recently came across this news article regarding a serious workers compensation accident injury: A Burnsville, Minnesota man was transported by Sanford AirMed to the hospital after receiving serious injuries following a work accident at Dakota Yeast LLC in Wahpeton Thursday morning. At approximately 9:32 a.m. Thursday, April 19, the worker was unloading hydrous ammonia from his semi truck. “As he took a safety cap off a coupler, it sprayed,” explained a rescue worker from the Fire Department. “Pressure from the coupler sprayed him.” The hydrous ammonia sprayed him in his facial area resulting in a chemical burn, the Sheriff’s Office stated.
After this horrible injury at work, the man was transported by Ambulance Services, Inc., to CHI St. Francis Health in Breckenridge, Minnesota, with serious injuries. From there, he was transported by Sanford AirMed to Sanford Health in Fargo. “This incident remains under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) Administration,” the Sheriff’s Office continued.
