Is the property owner always responsible when someone falls or is injured on their property? The answer is “no,” not always. Dave Ramsey likes to warn people to use LLCs for property to protect their assets. He says, “in case someone gets drunk and falls off your porch and sues you.” Some property owners do worry about that, but it is really nonsense. First, if you purchase homeowners insurance, that will protect in most or every case. Second, the property owner is only responsible if they actually did something wrong to cause your injury.
